Hintglass: an on-device interview copilot for macOS
Hintglass is a macOS menu-bar app for live video interviews. It transcribes both sides of the call on your Mac and, only when you ask, streams a short answer grounded in your own CV.
What it does
Transcribed on your Mac
Both sides of the call are transcribed using Apple’s on-device speech recognition, from the meeting app’s audio and your microphone. Audio never leaves the Mac.
Answers only when you ask
Hold a trigger key while the interviewer finishes, then release. A short scaffold of four to eight words appears, followed by a short answer, in a small panel.
Grounded in your profile
You write a profile from your CV and related notes. Answers draw on it, and Hintglass is instructed never to claim experience your profile does not contain.
Lives in the menu bar
It lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon.
Who it’s for
Hintglass is for job seekers taking live video interviews who want help finding the words, drawn from their own experience, without their audio leaving the Mac.
Your data
Audio stays on your Mac. Transcription runs on-device.
When you ask for an answer, the transcribed question and your profile text are sent to the AI provider you configure.
Requirements
macOS 27 on Apple silicon. Available as a direct download from nowjss4s.com.
